NEW YORK, N.Y. | BRIONES, SPAIN June 13, 2016 -- Vivanco Winery of La Rioja Alta has formed a partnership with New York based Foundations Marketing Group (FMG) for U.S based PR and Events Management, Social & Digital Media and Wine Marketing Services.
Vivanco, the renowned Spanish winery, has been in the business of wine for the past four generations. However, it is only since 2004 the company had its own winery and dedicated brand. “It is a combination of our winery, family Foundation and experiences that truly define Vivanco, as we stand for so much more than wine” stated Santiago Vivanco. “Art, history, dedication and passion culminate in all that we do, as the culture of wine is at our core.”
Today, VIvanco is led by Co-Presidents and brothers Santiago and Rafael Vivanco, who continue to honor the family tradition. Rafael is responsible for the award winning wine production, while Santiago manages the Museum of Wine Culture and the family’s Foundation.
“It is a privilege to work with a family that is so dedicated to the culture of wine in its many forms. The Museum is an exceptional experience, the wines are highly rated, and everything about Vivanco is uniquely innovative.”
– Monika Elling, CEO/FMG
As leaders in the Spanish wine sector, Vivanco wines feature native Spanish varieties such as Tempranillo, Garnacha, Viura and Malvasîa among others. With regards to the wine direction, Rafael Vivanco pays special attention to the rarer grapes such Tempranillo Bianco (white Tempranillo), Maturana Blanca, Mazuelo and Graciano. “We have given new life to these varieties because we aim to build upon and preserve the history of these grapes that are representative of the La Rioja region” commented Rafael Vivanco. “For instance, Maturana Blanca is the oldest grape variety to have a written record in Rioja, being mentioned in a text dating to 1622.”
The wines have received numerous 90 point plus ratings from the Wine Advocate, Wine Enthusiast and Wine Spectator among others. Vivanco wines are widely available in the U.S. through New Jersey based Opici Imports.
To experience Vivanco it is best to visit Briones, located in La Rioja Alta, where the family has its extensive vineyards, state-of-the-art winery and restaurant. The winery is an experiential destination in that it features a three-floor, 13,000 square feet Museum of Wine Culture with artwork spanning 8,000 years. All art within the exhibitions touches on the relationship between wine and history.
